Dr. Usha Rajagopal has been working her cosmetics surgery magic on patients across the Bay Area of San Francisco for more than two decades since she began working with the San Francisco Plastic Surgery and Laser Center. Now the Director of Surgery with the specialists in both invasive and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, Dr. Rajagopal has been moving forward with a desire to create a safe environment where people of all genders can feel their needs are put first at all times during each and every procedure which is completed.
A board-certified surgeon
The first step in becoming one of the leading surgeons in California is to get the correct level of education and experience to ensure all aspects of the plastic surgery field are understood by the individual. As an academic, there are few who have the skills and experience of Dr. Rajagopal who began her educational career on her journey to becoming a plastic surgeon at the University of Texas at Dallas; attending medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern allowed Usha Rajagopal the chance to earn her Masters Degree and explore the medical field to make decisions about her future as a medical professional.
Gaining experience in any field can be tough in the 21st-century, but Rajagopal completed both her internship and residency at the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas to ensure she completed her education to the highest possible standards. During her time at the Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dr. Rajagopal trained in the Department of Surgery and would extend her skills with a return to the University of Texas Southwestern where she completed a Research Fellowship in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Following the completion of her Research Fellowship, the surgeon made the decision to move to the University of California at San Francisco where she was a Fellow in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Exploring technology
Since deciding to enter private practice, Dr. Rajagopal has become a fervent supporter of the use of technology to extend the skills of surgeons and build the trust of patients from across the U.S. As a board-certified surgeon, the physician has been a prominent supporter of the introduction of technology including 3-D imaging technology used by her team to develop a complete understanding of patients of how a procedure will positively affect their body image. Usha Rajagopal believes managing the expectations of her patients is of great importance as the only experience many have of plastic surgery is gleaned from TV shows giving them unrealistic expectations of how a procedure will affect them in the future.
Technology also plays its part in the development of a range of non-surgical procedures the surgeon believes have a role to play in the creation of a beauty plan for her patients to follow. Budget and time constraints play a major role in the type of procedures a patient can expect to complete over the course of their time at the San Francisco Plastic Surgery and Laser Center; Dr. Usha Rajagopal believes laser technology and the use of Botox and filler injections can be a positive way forward for many who can limit the effects of aging by simply staying on top of required maintenance at all times.
Building a feeling of empowerment
At the San Francisco Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, Dr. Rajagopal has built an all-female team of surgeons, nurses, and professional medical professionals who are focused on providing patients with a caring, nurturing space to enjoy their treatment and recovery. Empowerment is one aspect of the work of Dr. Usha Rajagopal which cannot be underestimated as the member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and California Society of Plastic Surgeons believes her work can have an effect on almost every aspect of the lives of her patients.
Patients from any gender can be assured they are entering a judgment-free zone where their needs are placed at the heart of every decision taken. A transparent way of completing procedures is one of the most important aspects of the work of Dr. Rajagopla as she believes her own qualifications and experience should be presented to patients to make them feel comfortable under her care; similarly, patients should also understand the procedures they are undertaking and have some understanding of how these will look when they are completed. The positive effects of both surgical and non-surgical procedures are something the surgeon is keen to impress her patients with as they move through the process of completing a cosmetic surgical procedure to change the way they feel about their body.
